Design Detail
The first thing people notice when they pick this knife up is the hole near the spine of the blade. It is not decoration: it changes how your hand sits on the knife.
Your index finger goes through the cutout, just above the handle. That locks your hand in a fixed position, for steadier, more precise control.
The handle is made of pakka and acacia wood. Pakka is a dense, resin-stabilized wood that stands up to kitchen moisture better than plain wood, and its dark grain gives the knife its look.
If you've always held a knife by the handle alone, the finger-hole grip feels different at first. Most people find it natural after a few uses, and it can be easier to manage for hands that tire quickly.
